For this assignment, you will take the role of a nonpartisan budget analyst. You are tasked with evaluating the impacts of a defined benefit retirement system versus a defined contribution system. Draft a report that includes a description of both retirement systems, the pros and cons of each system, and a description of the impact that each would have on a budget.
The paper has to be written using two different books from the class The Universe Next Door by James W. Sire and World Religions and Cults 101 by Bruce Bickel and Stan Jantz and our lectures from the class. I am not sure how this works but here are the instructions from the professor.
Section I. Discuss faith and worldview and its connection to different historical eras, culture formation, and knowledge and truth construction. Give specific examples of how this may play out in our society. I can scan and send over all lectures notes also.
Section II. Choose one specific worldview presented in the course (including lecture material and the Sire or Wood texts). Compare (similarities) and contrast (differences) the worldview to the Christian worldview. Include a discussion of the key and important tenets of each worldview and how the implications of these different worldviews play out in society.
Section III. Which worldview do you most closely identify with? Explain how your faith and worldview inform and guide your choices, your practices, your career, and your relationships. Justify your stance.(Since this is a personal reflection, this section may be written in first person.)
Section IV. Discuss how faith and a corresponding worldview relate to wise management. Apply faith and worldview values and ideas to questions of business management, business decisions, business practices, and relationships in business.
It is a commonly stated proposition that humans make their own future but do so within the confines of history. What that means is that although we have freedom of choice and action we are not necessarily free to take a given action at a given point in time. History: including the institutions that characterize Canada as having a Western Liberal Capitalist Democratic regime, as well as the bureaucratic nature of our state, shape what options are available to us at any given moment in time, as well as which course of action is more likely to be followed. The Toronto area, as well as some other major Canadian cities, are widely acknowledged as having a housing affordability crisis. In their book “House Divided” Bozikovic et al. propose an approach for reducing the crisis. Consider one of the major institutions we are studying this term. Write an essay that explains why you believe that this institution will either help facilitate the solution that Bozikovic et al. are proposing or act as a barrier that will make it more difficult to implement their solution.
